My family & I were re-modeling/decorating the house & we decided to hire Ratna. I am in NY and my folks are in CA so it was def. very important for me to find someone who could work with my schedule + hours as well as someone who could communicate with my parents. She def. did a great job of managing both parties expectations. Ratna is professional, an excellent communicator and has great ideas. She emailed us concepts for planning with images to help with the thought process. She was always providing really great ideas and would adjust according to our taste’s whether is was my parents taste or mine. I would be in CA for literally 2 days in a month and she would go to all the stores with me and select everything in our tight time frame. She was very efficient with our time & also with the budget. She suggested everything within our budget and was very accommodating about re-budgeting items if we went over budget on something (which was very important to us). Another important thing to us was to make sure both my parents and my ideas were represented and Ratna took both my ideas and my parents ideas and merged the two.

Its been over a year now and this review is late but everyone who still visits our home always compliments on how well the interior is designed. It is a nice blend of CA and NY with a lot of warmth + peace. I would def. recommend Ratna if you are looking for a stress-free interior & fun decorating experience. We sure had a great time working with her.

We had a dated 1980’s master bath. There was really nothing wrong with it but my wife and I contemplated designing our own dream bath. We had a long wish list including adding a luxury tub, a modern curbless double shower, modern lighting, a potty room with its own privacy door and an updated walk in closet. We had to fit all these dream requirements without expanding the foot print of the existing bathroom.

Ratna of Antarya Design worked with us as our interior designer on the overall architecture. We went through many architectural options. She worked with us closely and helped us pick a plan which met all our constraints and fit into our lifestyle. It was amazing that we were able to add a tub and a private potty room by using some dead space. We now have a dream bath which actually feels bigger and lighter because of the beautiful placement of large picture window and a skylight right above the bath.

Ratna worked with us on everything including helping choose the tiles, the vanities, cabinet design, LED lighting, the doors, to the final paint selection. She drew up a fantastic tile plan for which the contractor just loved her for. In fact he swore that he would never build another bathroom without a tile plan. He took her business card to refer her to all his future clients.

Ratna has an amazing sense of aesthetics and taste. This complements her engineering background and you can see her love for her job in the finished product. We were careful with our budget and she was very conscious of finding quality products at a manageable price. We did splurge on the Porcelanosa tiles, because my wife fell in love with them.

The bathroom turned out to be prettier and more functional than we ever dreamed it to be. We are lucky to have worked with Ratna. We enjoy it everyday and still admire all her fine detailed designer touches.

We had a fantastic time working with Ratna (aka Antarya Design) over our 4-month assignment. We relied on Ratna 100% to:
• Help us understand our budget and develop a staged timeline,
• Understand our (very different) tastes and come up with a design that is appealing to both of us and is “uniquely ours” – a task I thought was impossible;
• Make sure the design is as beautiful as it is functional, and will be able to last for years to come through several stages of life, and
• Complete the project on time and within budget, despite our crazy lives and schedules.

Dealing with budgets, contractor and delivery people is highly stressful, and she was always on top of it, always patient, always willing to go the extra mile to make sure everything was handled properly, within timelines and budgets.

I have a small townhouse that i bought a few years ago with the intent of remodeling the kitchen. The place was built in 1965 and had lots of small, dark, closed rooms whereas I was looking for a modern, open-concept floor-plan. I called Ratna we talked about what I would ideally like from the remodel. Ratna was able to take my rough idea and transform it into a concrete, workable design. Ratna helped with so many details that I never would have thought of and all the various elements work together beautifully.
